Division chief engineer
Overall responsibility for coordinating and supervising the performance of engineering studies,
the preparation of installation procedures, and directing the contract related scope of work

LEAD/ SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER
The candidate should have a Chemical/Petroleum engineering degree with 8 -15 years
experience, majority of which should be in the Process design of offshore oil and gas facilities
and pipelines. The candidate should be from an EPC or engineering consultancy background.
Other attributes required for the position are as follows:
• Extensive knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the oil industry and on-the-job
exposure to the specifications of at least one of the major oil companies.
• Conversant in the usage of Process Design software tools like HYSYS, FLARESIM, PIPESIM,
PIPENET, FLARENET, FRED, etc.
• Fully conversant with typical Process deliverables like H&M Balance, PFDs, P&IDs, Design
Basis and philosophies, Equipment and Instrument datasheets, SAFE Charts, Process
design calculations, providing inputs to other disciplines and vendor data review.
• Fully conversant with process engineering studies like depressurization, blowdown,
radiation and dispersion.
• Should have preferably participated in a HAZOP and involved in the close out of action

• Preparation of Start-up and Operating Manual

Field trip of second batch of epigraphy students to Thirumukoodal
Mr. L V Krishnan, a retired Scientist was one of our second batch of students and he had made an excellent report of the trip we conducted for the epigraphy students on 17th January 2010.

Report on a Field Trip of the Second Epigraphy Batch organized on Jan 17, 2010
About ten persons from the second batch of the epigraphy course run by AASAI/REACH Foundation went on a field trip to the Thirumukkudal temple on January 17, 2010 to read some of the inscriptions with the help of the guru Sri Ramachandran. Dr. Sathyamurthy was also present with his geologist friend.
The temple and the inscriptions that fill practically the entire surface of its walls are remarkably well preserved. It was possible to read the inscriptions directly without the need for estampaging.
We began by reading the inscription found on the முப்பட்டைக்குமுதம் of the outer surface of the south wall that begins with இராசேந்திரசோழன் மெய்கீர்த்தி as given below (text no. 1). We then went on to read the inscription about the hospital found on the eastern part of the front wall on the north, which may also be found below (text no. 2). The pillar of a recently added structure was too close to the wall and covered some part of this inscription.
Though there are references to hospitals and institutions for teaching medical sciences in ancient India, the Thirumukkudal temple inscription appears to be the only source providing details of a hospital including the name of the physician in charge, the list of medicines and the payments in cash and kind made to the staff. Surgery and the surgeon also figured in the inscription!
We also attempted to read some inscription on the inner face of the southern outer wall (behind the garbagriham) that seems to relate to a grant to the temple priest for keeping a lamp burning. The reading had to be done with the help of a torch as there was no power and no light in the area. The part that was read is also given below (text no.3).
It was about one in the afternoon when we completed reading of the inscriptions. We were hungry but the Temple provided us with tasty Thayir Sadam prasadam.
We then went on to the Sundaravarada temple in Uttaramerur. The route we were advised to take turned out to be rather long, but when we reached the temple, we were provided delicious prasadam in the form of chakkarapongal, puliodarai and dadhyodhanam. The temple is unique in having three garbagrihams one above another. After visiting the temple we went on to the Kailasanathar temple being renovated by REACH and found the work progressing well.

புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்டத்தின் கீரனூரிலிருந்து சுமார் 17 கி.மீ தொலைவில் உள்ளது மலையடிப்பட்டி. விசலூரிலிருந்து 2 கி.மீ தூரத்தில் இருக்கிறது.
மரங்கள் நிறைந்த பகுதியில் விசலூர்க்கோயில் அமர்ந்திருந்ததென்றால், மலையடிப்பட்டி, மொட்டைப் பாறைப் பிரதேசத்தில், ஒரு மலைக்குன்றில் குடையப்பட்டு, வெளிப்பார்வைக்கு சூனியமாகவும், உட்புறம், வெயில் வேளைக்குக் குளிர்ச்சியாக, எங்கள் வரவை ஆவலுடன் எதிர்பார்ப்பது போல் தன் வாயில் கதவுகளைத் திறந்து வைத்துக்கொண்டு காத்திருந்தது.
மலையடிப்பட்டியில் இரு குடைவரைக்கோயில்கள் உள்ளன: ஒன்று சிவபெருமானுக்கு, இன்னொன்று திருமாலுக்கு. நாங்கள் முதலில் திருமால் கோயில் கொண்டிருந்த குடைவரைக்கோயிலையே தரிசித்தோம். இந்தக்கோயிலில் உள்ள பழைமையான ஒரு கல்வெட்டு, சோழ அரசன் இராஜகேசரியின் ஏழாம் ஆட்சியாண்டைச் சார்ந்ததாம். ‘ஒளிபதி விஷ்ணுகிருகம்’ என்ற வார்த்தைகள், இக்கோயில் கல்வெட்டுகளில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. காலத்தைப் பொறுத்தவரையில், சிவபெருமான் குடைவரைக்கும் பிற்பட்டது என்று தகவல். சுமார் ஒன்பது, அல்லது பத்தாம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்ததாக இருக்கலாம் என்று ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர்.

அ.தி.மு.க. வட்டாரத்தில் பொதுச் செயலாளர் ஜெயலலிதா முடிவு செய்து அறிவிப்பார் என கூறப்படுகிறது. தே.மு.தி.க சார்பில் கடந்த முறை போட்டியிட்டு 900 ஓட்டு பெற்ற சரவணன் தற்போது பா.ஜனதாவில் உள்ளார். இவ்வார்டில் தே.மு.தி.க. சார்பில் கேபிள் அன்பு, சுல்தான் சந்துரு வாய்ப்பு கேட்டு காத்திருக்கிறார்கள்.
2 நாளில் வேட்பாளர்கள் யார் என 3 கட்சிகளும் அறிவிக்கும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. இது தவிர பா.ஜனதாவும் வேட்பாளரை களத்தில் இறக்குகிறது. தொடர்ந்து 3 முறை வெற்றிக்கனியை பறித்த அ.தி.மு.க. இம்முறையும் வெற்றியை தக்க வைக்க துடிக்கிறது. இம்முறை வார்டை கைப்பற்றியே தீருவது என தி.மு.க. தீவிரமாக செயல்பட உள்ளது. இவர்களுக்கு இடையே தே.மு.தி.க. தங்கள் சக்திய காட்ட வேலையை இப்போதே தொடங்கி விட்டது.

''தமிழையும், புலவர்களையும் நம் மன்னர்கள் எந்த அளவுக்கு மதித்தார்கள், நேசித்தார்கள் என்பதனைக் காட்டுகிற ஒரு கல்வெட்டுச் செய்தி, திருவெள்ளரையில் இருக்கிறது. அங்குள்ள விஷ்ணு கோயிலில், பாண்டிய மன்னன் சுந்தரபாண்டியன் கல்வெட்டு இருக்கிறது. அது உரையாக இல்லாமல் சங்க இலக்கியப் பாணியில் பாடலாகவே உள்ளது. அதில், சோழநாட்டை வென்று... சோழ நாட்டின் அரசுக் கட்டடங்கள் அனைத்தையும் இடித்துத் தரைமட்டம் ஆக்கிய தகவல்களைப் பதிந்து வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். அதிலேயே 'எல்லாவற்றையும் இடித்த நான், சோழ நாட்டில் இருந்த ஒரு பதினாறுகால் மண்டபத்தை மட்டும் இடிக்கவில்லை. காரணம், அது பட்டினப் பாலை பாடிய உருத்திரங்கண்ணனார் என்ற புலவருக்கு மன்னன் கரிகால்பெருவளத்தான் பரிசாகக் கொடுத்தது...' என பொறித்திருக்கிறான் சுந்தரபாண்டியன். அதன் மூலமாக தன்னைப் பாடியவர்க்கு ஒரு பதினாறுகால் மண்டபத்தையே பரிசாக அளித்த சோழ மன்னனின் கொடைத் திறத்தையும், அவனுக்குப் பிறகு ஆயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் கழித்து வந்தாலும் அந்த மாண்பை மதித்த பாண்டிய மன்னனின் பெருந்தன்மையையும் அறிய முடிகிறது. கல்வெட்டில் இப்படிக்கூட இலக்கியங்களைப் பதிக்க முடியுமா என்று வியக்கிற அளவுக்கு இருக்கிறது, செந்தலை என்னும் ஊரில் இருக்கும் சிவாலாயத் தூண் பாடல்கள்! திருக்காட்டுப்பள்ளி அருகே நியமம் என்னும் ஊரில் உள்ள காளி கோயிலில்தான் முதலில் அந்தக் கல்வெட்டு இருந்தது. பின்னாளில் அந்தக் கோயில் இடிபாடாகிவிட... அங்குள்ள தூண்களை எடுத்து செந்தலை சிவன் கோயிலில் வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். ஏழு, எட்டாம் நூற்றாண்டில் வாழ்ந்த பல்லவர்களின் ஆட்சியின் கீழ் குறுநில மன்னராக இருந்த பெரும்பிடுகு முத்தரையர் என்பவரை, நான்கு புலவர்கள் வாழ்த்தும்விதமாக அமைந்திருக்கும் அந்தப் பாடல்கள் தமிழின் நயத்துக்கு அழியாத சான்று! பாச்சில்வேள்நம்பன், கோட்டாற்று இளம்பெருமானார், பவதாயமங்களத்து காஞ்சன், ஆச்சார்யர் அனிருத்தர் ஆகிய நான்கு புலவர்களும் பெரும்பிடுகு முத்தரையரின் போர் வெற்றிகள் குறித்து சொல் சித்து நடத்தி இருக்கிறார்கள். திருச்சி மலை உச்சியில் மகேந்திரவர்ம பல்லவன் கட்டுவித்த ஒரு குடைவரைக் கோயில் இருக்கிறது. உச்சிப்பிள்ளையார் கோயிலுக்குக் கொஞ்சம் கீழே இருக்கிறது அது. அங்கே நிறைய வடமொழிப் பாடல்கள் கல்வெட்டில் காணப்படுகின்றன. அந்தக் கோயிலுக்கு 11-ம் நூற்றாண்டில் சென்ற நம் தமிழ்ப்புலவன் ஒருவன் அந்த மலையைப் பற்றியும், அங்குள்ள சிவனைப் பற்றியும் 103 பாடல்களைக்கொண்ட சிராமணி அந்தாதியைப் பாடினான். அந்த 103 பாடல்களும் அப்படியே அங்கு கல்வெட்டில் இருக்கின்றன. இப்படி ஒரு முழு நூலையே கல்வெட்டில் பதித்திருப்பது, வேறு எங்கும் இல்லாத தனிச் சிறப்பு! நம் தமிழைச் செம்மொழியாக்க இப்படி ஒரு பதிவும் துணை நின்றது என்றே சொல்லலாம். அந்தப் பாடல் 'கற்பந்தல் கீழ் வைத்தான் கவி' என்று முடிகிறது. அதாவது, பாடிய பாடல்களை மண்டபத்தில் வைத்தேன் என்று சொல்ல வந்த அந்த புலவன், மண்டபம் என்று சொல்லாமல் 'கல்பந்தல்' என்று கற்பனைத் திறன் காட்டியிருக்கிறான். அந்த சிராமணி அந்தாதியைப் பதிப்பித்தது தருமபுரம் ஆதீனம். அந்த பதிப்புகூட இப்போது அவர்களிடம் இல்லை. ஆனால், கல்வெட்டில் அப்படியே காலத்தை வென்று நிற்கிறது அது....'' என்ற பாலசுப்ரமணியம், ''நாம் அறியாத இன்னும் பல பழைய செய்திகளும் கல்வெட் டில் உண்டு...'' என்றபடி விவரித் தார். ''பறம்பு மலையை ஆண்ட பாரி மன்னனுக்கு தோழராய் இருந்த புலவர் கபிலரை நாம் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். பாரி, போரில் இறந்துபட்ட பின்பு அவனது மகள்கள் இருவரையும் ஆதரித்து மலையமானுக்கு மணம்செய்து கொடுத்த கபிலர், அதன்பிறகு பாரி போன இடத்துக்கே போகநினைத்து வடக்கிருந்து உயிர்விட்டார் என்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம். ஆனால், அவர் வடக்கிருந்து உயிர் துறக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, திருக் கோவிலூரில் பெண்ணையாற்று நடுவில் இருக்கும் ஒரு பாறையில் அமர்ந்து சுற்றிலும் தீ மூட்டிக்கொண்டுதான் இறந்திருக்கிறார் என்பது கல்வெட்டுத் தகவல். அவர் உயிரைத் துறந்த அந்தப் பாறை, இன்றும் 'கபிலர்கல்' என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. இதைச் சொல்லும் அந்தக் கல்வெட்டில், இன்னொரு நயமான விஷயமும் உண்டு. ராஜராஜனுடைய தந்தை இரண்டாம் பராந்தகன் என்னும் சுந்தரசோழன் இறந்தவுடன் அவனுடைய சிதையில் ஏறி உயிர் துறந்தாள் வானவன் மாதேவி. இந்தச் செய்தியை சொல்லும் அந்தக் கல்வெட்டுப் பாடல், 'விண்ணகத்து மகளிர் யாரேனும் தன் கணவன் உடலை தழுவிவிடுவார்களோ என்று பயந்து, தானும் தீயில் உடன் பாய்ந்தாள்' என்கிறது. இந்தத் தகவல்கள் யாவும் திருக்கோவிலூரில் உள்ள ராஜராஜன் கல்வெட்டுகளில் கம்பன்மணியன் என்ற அதிகாரி அளித்திருக்கும் நிவந்தங்கள் பற்றிய செய்தி களில் காணப்படுகிறது. இப்படி நமது கல்வெட்டுகள் அத்தனையும் அருமையான செம்மொழி இலக்கியங்கள்தான். அவற்றையெல்லாம் நூல்களாகக் கொண்டுவந்தால் அடுத்தடுத்த தலைமுறைகளின் நெஞ்சில் நம் மொழித் தாயின் பெருமைகள் அழுந்தப் பதியும்..!'' என சிலிர்த்தபடி முடித்தார் குடவாயில்பாலசுப்ரமணியன்!

இன்றைய தேதியில் நாகர்கோயில் எனும் பெயரால் அழைக்கப்படும் பெருநகரானது அந்நாளில் கோட்டாறு என்றும் திருக்கொட்டாறு(227) என்றும் அறியப்பட்டது. நகருக்கு அண்மையில் அதே பெயரில் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் ஆற்றின் பெயராலேயே அக்கோநகரும் அறியப்பட்டது. இன்றும் நாகர்கோயிலின் ஒரு முக்கிய நகர்ப் பகுதி கோட்டாறு என்றே அறியப்படுவது கவனிக்கத்தக்கது.

நாஞ்சில் நாட்டின்(228) புகழ்பெற்ற நகரங்களுள் ஒன்றாக விளங்கிய கோட்டாற்றின் மீது வரலாற்று வெளிச்சம் பல்லவர் முத்தரையர் காலத்திலேயே படியத்துவங்கிவிடுகிறது. இந்நாளில் திருச்சிக்கடுத்து அமைந்துள்ள வல்லம் எனும் நகரத்தில் காணப்படும் முத்தரையர் கல்வெட்டு கோட்டாற்று இளம்பெருமானார் எனும் புலவர் பெருமகனைக் குறிப்பிடும்.
ஆய்வேள் அரசரின் ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்ட நாஞ்சில் நாட்டின் முக்கிய வாணிபக் கேந்திரமாகவும் படைத்தளமாகவும் கோட்டாறு விளங்கியதால் அந்நகரை அந்நியர் படையெடுப்பிலிருந்து பாதுகாக்க வேண்டி அரணாகக் கோட்டைப் பெருமதிலொன்று முற்காலத்தில் எழுப்பப்பட்டிருந்தது. இம்மதிலும் கோநகரும் கி.பி. எட்டாம் நூற்றாண்டில் பாண்டிய வேந்தர் நெடுமாறனால் தாக்கி அழிக்கப்பட்டன என்பதைக் "குருமா நெடுமதிற் கோட்டாற்றரண்கொண்ட தென்னவன் கன்னிப் பெருமான்" எனும் பாண்டிக்கோவை வரிகள் உணர்த்தும்.
(228) பெரும்பாலான கல்வெட்டுக்களில் நாஞ்சில் நாடு "நாஞ்சி நாடு" என்று திரிந்தே அழைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
இவ்வாறு பல்லவர்-முத்தரையர் காலத்திலும் அதனைத் தொடர்ந்த இடைக்காலப் பாண்டியர் ஆட்சிக் காலத்திலும் சிறப்புற விளங்கிய இந்நகரானது நமது கதை நடக்கும் சோழர் காலத்திலும் மிகுந்த முக்கியத்துவம் பெற்ற தென்பாண்டி நாட்டு நகரமாகவே விளங்கியது. மலைநாட்டில் விளையும் முக்கியப் பொருட்களான மிளகு, தேன், அகில், சந்தனம், ஏலக்காய், இலவங்கம் முதலானவை இங்கே மொத்தமாகக் கொள்முதல் செய்யப்பட்டன. மலைநாட்டில் விளைந்த பொருட்களைக் கீழ்த்திசை நாடுகளுக்கும் மேற்திசை நாடுகளுக்கும் கலம் கலமாக ஏற்றுமதி செய்துகொண்டிருந்த திசையாயிரத்து ஐந்நூற்றுவர்களும் பதினெண் பூமி நாட்டாரும் அஞ்சுவண்ணத்தாரும் இதர வணிகர் குழுமங்களும் தத்தம் பிரத்யேக வாணிபப் பிரதிநிதிக்களைக் கோட்டாற்றில் குடியமர்த்தியிருந்தார்கள். இந்த மிகுதியான வாணிபப் போக்குவரத்தினால் சேரிகள் என்றழைக்கப்படும் குடியிருப்புப் பகுதிகள் இந்நகரில் உருவாகலாயின. இவற்றுள் நகரின் தெற்கே நின்றருளியபிரான் திருக்கோயிலையொட்டி உருவான தென் சேரியும், மத்தியப் பகுதியில் நாகராஜர் திருக்கோயிலையொட்டி உருவான உலகமுழுதுடையாள் சேரியும் நகரின் வடபகுதியில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட வட சேரியும் முக்கியமானவை. இன்றைய தேதியிலும் நாகர்கோயிலின் வடக்குப் பகுதி வடசேரியென்றே அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. உலகமுழுதுடையாள் சேரி இந்நாளில் ஒழுகினசேரி எனும் திரிந்த பெயருடன் புழக்கத்திலிருக்கிறது. பெயரளவில் ஏதோ இவ்விரண்டு "சேரி"களாவது பிழைத்துள்ளனவே - அதனை நினைத்து ஆறுதல் கொள்ள வேண்டியதுதான்.
கோட்டாற்றிலிருந்து திருச்சிவீந்திரம் (அதாவது சுசீந்திரம்) வழியாகக் கழிக்குடிக்கு வரை சென்ற சகடப் பெருவழி(229), மருந்துவாழ் மலையையும் ஸ்ரீவல்லபப் பெருஞ்சாலையையும் கடந்துதான் சென்றது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

இன்றைய தேதியில் நாகர்கோயில் எனும் பெயரால் அழைக்கப்படும் பெருநகரானது அந்நாளில் கோட்டாறு என்றும் திருக்கொட்டாறு(227) என்றும் அறியப்பட்டது. நகருக்கு அண்மையில் அதே பெயரில் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் ஆற்றின் பெயராலேயே அக்கோநகரும் அறியப்பட்டது. இன்றும் நாகர்கோயிலின் ஒரு முக்கிய நகர்ப் பகுதி கோட்டாறு என்றே அறியப்படுவது கவனிக்கத்தக்கது.

நாஞ்சில் நாட்டின்(228) புகழ்பெற்ற நகரங்களுள் ஒன்றாக விளங்கிய கோட்டாற்றின் மீது வரலாற்று வெளிச்சம் பல்லவர் முத்தரையர் காலத்திலேயே படியத்துவங்கிவிடுகிறது. இந்நாளில் திருச்சிக்கடுத்து அமைந்துள்ள வல்லம் எனும் நகரத்தில் காணப்படும் முத்தரையர் கல்வெட்டு கோட்டாற்று இளம்பெருமானார் எனும் புலவர் பெருமகனைக் குறிப்பிடும்.
ஆய்வேள் அரசரின் ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்ட நாஞ்சில் நாட்டின் முக்கிய வாணிபக் கேந்திரமாகவும் படைத்தளமாகவும் கோட்டாறு விளங்கியதால் அந்நகரை அந்நியர் படையெடுப்பிலிருந்து பாதுகாக்க வேண்டி அரணாகக் கோட்டைப் பெருமதிலொன்று முற்காலத்தில் எழுப்பப்பட்டிருந்தது. இம்மதிலும் கோநகரும் கி.பி. எட்டாம் நூற்றாண்டில் பாண்டிய வேந்தர் நெடுமாறனால் தாக்கி அழிக்கப்பட்டன என்பதைக் "குருமா நெடுமதிற் கோட்டாற்றரண்கொண்ட தென்னவன் கன்னிப் பெருமான்" எனும் பாண்டிக்கோவை வரிகள் உணர்த்தும்.

இவ்வாறு பல்லவர்-முத்தரையர் காலத்திலும் அதனைத் தொடர்ந்த இடைக்காலப் பாண்டியர் ஆட்சிக் காலத்திலும் சிறப்புற விளங்கிய இந்நகரானது நமது கதை நடக்கும் சோழர் காலத்திலும் மிகுந்த முக்கியத்துவம் பெற்ற தென்பாண்டி நாட்டு நகரமாகவே விளங்கியது. மலைநாட்டில் விளையும் முக்கியப் பொருட்களான மிளகு, தேன், அகில், சந்தனம், ஏலக்காய், இலவங்கம் முதலானவை இங்கே மொத்தமாகக் கொள்முதல் செய்யப்பட்டன. மலைநாட்டில் விளைந்த பொருட்களைக் கீழ்த்திசை நாடுகளுக்கும் மேற்திசை நாடுகளுக்கும் கலம் கலமாக ஏற்றுமதி செய்துகொண்டிருந்த திசையாயிரத்து ஐந்நூற்றுவர்களும் பதினெண் பூமி நாட்டாரும் அஞ்சுவண்ணத்தாரும் இதர வணிகர் குழுமங்களும் தத்தம் பிரத்யேக வாணிபப் பிரதிநிதிக்களைக் கோட்டாற்றில் குடியமர்த்தியிருந்தார்கள். இந்த மிகுதியான வாணிபப் போக்குவரத்தினால் சேரிகள் என்றழைக்கப்படும் குடியிருப்புப் பகுதிகள் இந்நகரில் உருவாகலாயின. இவற்றுள் நகரின் தெற்கே நின்றருளியபிரான் திருக்கோயிலையொட்டி உருவான தென் சேரியும், மத்தியப் பகுதியில் நாகராஜர் திருக்கோயிலையொட்டி உருவான உலகமுழுதுடையாள் சேரியும் நகரின் வடபகுதியில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட வட சேரியும் முக்கியமானவை. இன்றைய தேதியிலும் நாகர்கோயிலின் வடக்குப் பகுதி வடசேரியென்றே அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. உலகமுழுதுடையாள் சேரி இந்நாளில் ஒழுகினசேரி எனும் திரிந்த பெயருடன் புழக்கத்திலிருக்கிறது. பெயரளவில் ஏதோ இவ்விரண்டு "சேரி"களாவது பிழைத்துள்ளனவே - அதனை நினைத்து ஆறுதல் கொள்ள வேண்டியதுதான்.
கோட்டாற்றிலிருந்து திருச்சிவீந்திரம் (அதாவது சுசீந்திரம்) வழியாகக் கழிக்குடிக்கு வரை சென்ற சகடப் பெருவழி(229), மருந்துவாழ் மலையையும் ஸ்ரீவல்லபப் பெருஞ்சாலையையும் கடந்துதான் சென்றது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
